Trek to Arthur’s Seat – Mahabaleshwar – Feb 9, 2020

SHARE

Anu and I signed up for this trek with Sahyadri Trekkers Foundation. They provide transportation but we drove in our own car. We start from Pune at 1.50 am on Sun, Feb 9, went through Wai, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar to final reach a village called Dhawale. On the way we passed a village called Umrath where Tanaji Malusrare‘s was cremated after the battle of Sinhagadh.

We started at Dhawale and ended at Arthur’s seat in Mahabaleshwar.

We started at around 6.30 am from Dhawale village. The sun has just risen.

Stunning views on the trek.

Since it was February, the weather was pleasant.

We finally reached close to the topmost point, but we had to scale a 20 foot vertical rockface. We had to wait for our turn to climb.

We reached Arthur’s Seat at 11:15 am. Total: 3 hours, 45 mins of climbing time.

It was a great trek. We had our driver pick us up at around 11.30 and we drove home to reach by about 4 pm.
